I think it would be a cool feature if I could put a song up on the screen with no particular background, and then set it to cycle through a set of background images, maybe a particular category of images in the backgrounds section.
If I need to explain further, please inquire.
Thanks!

I think I understand your request...so the operator would still be changing slides for the lyrics...but either randomly or set to some sort of timing...the background image would change to another image within a particular category of images...?
With edit on the fly, you can change the background during a show...dragging a new background onto a slide and re-selecting the slide will change the background on the fly.
Do most audiences who see the background change (particularly a still image) also think that the lyrics are changing...would this cause some mental fatigue among the congregation? |

Yep, you're understanding it correctly. I was just thinking that if I wanted, say, fast-paced image-changing to match the measures of the song, that would be a good way to have sort of a constantly fading background. We did something like this at our church yesterday, where we have a dedicated graphics computer and a different computer doing words. All very abstract images, of course. With normal in-focus images I do believe it would be a bit distracting. To match it up to the measures of a song, perhaps there could be a button to "go to next background in category" to give more manual control.
TO close, I'll say that if this is a hard thing to add, it's probably not worth it for the LW team, since I don't think too many people would utilize it (I could be wrong about that?). But if it's a quick addition, I do know that I would appreciate the functionality. |

Even though we add features to make LiveWorship more versatile and marketable, the team has tried to be discriminating about what features we do add to keep the code from getting bloated or more difficult to update/upgrade. But we are always open to suggestions or feedback from customers...sometimes they come up with great ideas that we have not thought of yet... =)
I have actually done this and it's a neat effect...take a group of still images and create a video loop of them in a video editing app (Movie Maker, iMovie, Final Cut, etc)...then drop that into LiveWorship and use it as a video background. You get that randomness...but also will have some control over the timing of the transitions...be able to blur the images, etc. |

Yep, I thought of that, and I meant to mention it in my previous reply. That would work just fine I think. I guess the only benefit gained from my request would be control over when those images change.
Just a thought... If it bloats the code, don't worry about it. |
