I'm new...just entering words to 300 songs and have these questions:
1) Why am I forced to put every song into a presentation? I just want to enter song lyrics right now, but it won’t let me save unless I save it to a presentation. What am I doing wrong?
2) Every time I finish entering song lyrics, I have to clear the presentation panel in order to start over with a new song...that means right-clicking the song title, choose Remove Slide Group, then confirm it in popup window. Is there an easier way to do this?
3) When I copy words into the Editor Window for a new song, then I go down to put in the title but the words New Song are there and I have to triple click to select them before I can write over them. Is there any way to get rid of those words?
4) Finally, why doesn’t the Song Lyrics list stay in alphabetical order? Every time I open the program I have to click on the heading once or twice in order to re-alphabetize the song list. ??
I appreciate the patience of anyone who can answer these simple and tedious questions of mine. Thanks... |

Hi Jim,
1) Unless you are directly importing into the media library, all items that are added to a presentation (songs, backgrounds, videos, slides, etc) will not be added to the media library until you save the current presentation. This is because you are building a presentation and the elements added to it are not inserted into the library until you save the presentation. The team decided on this work flow because it is similar to working on a word processing document...if you drag and drop items into a document, they are not saved until you save the document. You can directly import items into the media library by pulling File to Import...media and CCLI song/text files can be directly input into the library this way. If you are creating a new song using the New Song button on the toolbar, then you will have to save the presentation before this item added to your presentation is added to the media library.
2) You do not have to clear the presentation panel to add an additional song. You can add many songs to one presentation...when you save that one presentation, all the new items will be saved into the database.
3) Pressing the tab key while in the Editor Window will move the focus into the Title field and highlight the "new song" text. |
