I just rebuilt my Windows box, and when I went to install LiveWorship 1.3.16 (I tried both the full installation and the small installation packages), it installed fine. However, when I open LiveWorship, it sorta half-way loads, and pops a message up that says "Can not determine library mode." I can click it a few times, and the program still is running, but without any of the main components in the middle of the screen. Has anyone seen this and know how to fix it?
Thanks,
Paul |

I've had this issue on multiple installs. These are brand new Windows XP installations. The fix, as provided by the LiveWorship support team, is to go into the LiveWorship.conf file (search your computer for it after turning on hidden files, and it's in the Docs and Settings folder somewhere) and change the "LastLibMode=" to "LastLibMode=IMAGE". I've also found that "LastLibMode=VIDEO" also works. However, once I do this, I am still having major problems with videos being jerky, and I can't tell whether it's a video driver issue or not. I am able to play movies perfectly in VLC or WMP or Quicktime, but not in LiveWorship. Additionally, even changing slides while in non-video mode (a static image background), the slide takes a very long time to advance, and when it does, it is very jerky.
I am going to attempt to install the old version of LW on my machine tonight or tomorrow and will hopefully post successful results here. |

Fix has been posted in the FAQ and we think we have tracked the bug so that in the next update this will be fixed:
Error message "Can't determine library mode".
Added Jan 23, 2007
When LiveWorship launches for the first time, the library mode is read from the newly created preferences file. There is a bug (that is fixed in the next update) that may allow this preference to not be set to the default and the LiveWorship window does not draw correctly (media library panel is missing) and you get the error: "Can't determine library mode".
To fix this bug, you can manually edit the text file where the preferences have been stored (or email us the file and we'll modify it and email it back). The preferences file is hidden on Windows, so you must set Windows to show hidden files in order to find the file.
The preferences are stored in a file named "LiveWorship.conf" that is created inside the user's folder that contains the user settings.
On Macintosh computers, this file is stored at:
Users/<user name>/Library/Preferences/LiveWorship Settings
On Windows computers, this file is stored at:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\LiveWorship Settings
NOTE: On Windows, this file is stored in a location that is "hidden" from normal users. To find this file, you would need to activate the ability to view "hidden files and folders".
To display hidden files and folders in Windows XP:
1. Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
• Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
• Click Appearance and Themes, and then click Folder Options.
2. On the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders. You can also search for this file but you will need to enable "show hidden files and folders" under the Advanced Search features.
You can open this in any text editor application (WordPad on Windows or TextEdit on Mac). Edit the line that reads "LastLibMode=" to say "LastLibMode=IMAGE". Save this file and relaunch LiveWorship. |

That seems to have fixed the problem. After I solved that, though, LW had major problems playing video (with or without lyrics on top of it). I did all of the system updates I thought were necessary, made sure I had the correct graphics drivers, and nothing seemed to work. I finally played around in Windows Media Player and it required some more updates. After that, I booted LW back up and it seemed to cooperate. However, the slide transition takes forever, and also requires more than one click to advance. Is there some troubleshooting I can go through to fix this?
I am running 1.3.16 on Windows XP SP2, 2.6 GHz cpu and 1.5 GB of RAM. Primary graphics card is a Matrox G550 dualhead (I'm only using the VGA output of it) and my secondary monitor (projector) is running out of a ATI All-in-Wonder 128. |

| This is a know issue with the Windows version that will be fixed in the next update. There is an event error that happens after you click a slide to transition. The slide does not transition until you move the mouse...that is probably the delay you are experiencing. Took us awhile to figure out what has happening as it was reported as delays of various times. This could be connected to hardware acceleration of various video cards as it's not common for every machine. Until the next update, you may find yourself wiggling your mouse after clicking or reverting back to the previous version (directions in the FAQ online). |

Any idea when that update will be complete? Would it be possible to release an update just for that, as a small incremental update? It's really annoying to wiggle the mouse around so much.
Thanks,
